Crusader Students Inspire Young Readers During Special Literacy Day
Members of MLK's Student Life Organization partnered with Ralph Bunche Preparatory Academy for a day dedicated to literacy and mentorship, working closely with K–5 students in a school-wide reading initiative.
Crusaders spent the day reading alongside younger students, sharing books they brought and exploring selections from the school library. The visit highlighted not only a love of reading, but also the leadership and mentorship skills of the participating students.
For some, the experience was especially meaningful, as they returned to their former elementary and middle school classrooms and reconnected with past teachers—making the day a full-circle moment.
The event showcased the lasting impact of the school community, with students demonstrating the values, preparation, and guidance they’ve received through their actions and engagement.
